(PRESS RELEASE) MUKWONAGO, WI — End of the Leash, a leading retailer of natural and holistic pet food with locations in Mukwonago and Hales Corners, Wisconsin, has announced a first-of-its-kind pet food and supply donation drive to take place from January 27 through February 2 to aid animals impacted by both the California wildfires and Hurricane Helene in North Carolina.
The shop is calling upon the generosity of local customers, companies, distributors, and pet food manufacturers to contribute food, supplies and financial donations. The shop is collaborating with local animal welfare organization Blackberry Point Haven, Obah, Rise Disaster Relief & Recovery, Inc., Texas Rescue Riders and other organizations and volunteers on both ends of the convoy.
This coast-to-coast relief project was inspired by a generous donation of 22,000 pounds of premium, limited-ingredient dog and cat food from Pets Global, Inc., maker of Zignature and Fussie Cat, as well as cat litter from World’s Best Cat Litter. Last week, End of the Leash partnered with Blackberry Point Haven for their maiden voyage to California, which delivered 6,000 pounds of supplies to Agoura Hills, California with support from Elmbrook Humane Society and Tractor Supply Company.
“These communities are still in crisis, confronting housing issues, loss of water, power, and basic supplies,” said End of the Leash Owner, Summer Street. “But it takes time to rebuild lives. And once the dust settles, the fires are extinguished, and the waters recede, families are still left suffering and struggling to feed themselves and their pets. We want them to know they are not forgotten and want to do what we can to help as they get back on their feet and on with their lives.”
Donations can be made at either of End of the Leash’s locations, purchased online at endoftheleash.com, or by calling 262.363.3338. The public is encouraged to donate dry or canned dog and cat food, equine feed (grain, alfalfa pellets, timothy cubes), or contribute to transportation costs. End of the Leash will match the first $1,500 of donations.
“Even a small donation can make a big difference in the life of a pet in need,” says Street. “We urge our community to come together and support this important cause.”
